Krystal K. Thompson

Krystal K. Thompson, founder, and C.E.O. of Global Empowerment Group, L.L.C., is an accomplished  Rule of Law & Governance Advisor with 20 years of experience working to advance justice sector capacity in Central America, Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.  She has extensive experience in project management, implementation, and capacity building, on topics related to SGBV, gender mainstreaming, security sector, rule of law/court systems and organizational & cultural change. She has also provided technical advice on combatting human trafficking. She has led and managed the implementation of grants from: US State Department, USAID, I.N.L., UNDP, Australia DFAT programs.  Ms. Thompson served with the U.N. in Timor-Leste, as well as in special courts in Cambodia, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and The Hague. Ms. Thompson holds an L.L.M. in Comparative Law, J.D. from Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law Center, MA in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. Most recently, she completed all coursework at the Vrije University in Culture, Organizations, and Management.
