Samar Djacta

Samar’s expertise is media, communications and humanitarian law and policy. Samar has served with: United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva, preparing media messaging for staff and development of regulations for staff, coordinated development of staff magazine called “Dialogue”; Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue for communications and media management; Assisted with translations, social media feeds for the World Conference on “Religions, Creeds and Value Systems: Joining Forces to Enhance Equal Citizenship Rights” held under the patronage of H.R.H Prince El Hassan bin Talal of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; and, served as an intern for the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), MENA Section, Field Operations and Technical Cooperation Division for which she drafted allegation letters on human rights abuses and provided support on the process of follow up to relevant governments in MENA region. Her education includes Masters International Relations, Webster University Geneva; BA in Communications and Media, Fordham University. Samar speaks fluently, Arabic, English and French.
